Raiders Battle Hard but Fall Short Against Olympic

The Pierce College Raiders put up a strong fight against the Olympic Rangers but came up just short in game one, falling 8-7, before dropping game two by a score of 9-1.

In the opener, the Raiders’ offense came alive with big performances from multiple players. Samantha Tungsvik had an impressive two-way performance, pitching a complete game with nine strikeouts while also collecting three hits and scoring a run. Amber Burgess contributed two runs and two hits, while Kayla Jarreau had a strong showing with two hits, including a double, two RBIs, one run, and a walk. A’Juana Haywood was a key force at the plate, blasting a home run as part of a three-hit game, driving in four runs. Amelia Lopez also added a solo home run and a run scored.

In game two, the Raiders' bats were limited to four hits. Amelia Lopez continued her power surge with her second home run of the day, driving in the team’s lone run. Samantha Tungsvik and Ava Lewis each doubled, while Amber Burgess added a hit. Karen Cervantes-Macias pitched all five innings, striking out four.

Despite the losses, the Raiders showed resilience at the plate and will look to bounce back in their upcoming matchups.
