The Pierce College women’s soccer team rallied back from an early deficit to defeat South Puget Sound 4-1 on Wednesday.
The Clippers struck first, but the Raiders quickly answered. At the 31st minute, Lola Christensen netted Pierce’s opening goal off an assist from Elena Iniguez, leveling the score. Just one minute later, Grace Atkinson gave the Raiders the lead with a goal assisted by Olivia Jahn.
In the second half, Pierce extended its advantage with back-to-back strikes. Haley Courson buried an unassisted goal in the 60th minute, followed two minutes later by Jasmine Carrada, who also scored unassisted to seal the win.
The Raiders kept pressure on throughout the match with multiple players putting shots on frame. Atkinson led the team with four shots on goal, while Iniguez and Alivia Kehn each had two. Hali’a Maguadog and Summer Farber both added one shot on target.
In goal, Rylee Kline recorded three saves to help secure the victory.
