Raiders Unable to Keep Up With Thunderbirds
The Pierce Raiders took on the Highline Thunderbirds on Wednesday, October 16th in Tukwila, where the Thunderbirds defeated the Raiders by a score of 4-1. Wednesday's loss drops the Raiders overall season record to 2-10 and 1-7 in west region play.
The Raiders fell behind early on the in the game when Highline scored their first goal just four minutes into play. The T-birds scored two more goals in the first half, for a score of 3-0 at the 45 minute mark. The Raiders were able to answer back in the second half as Elena Iniguez scored a goal at the 62nd minute mark on an unassisted penalty kick. Highline was able to score one more goal in the match, finalizing the score at 4-1. Piper Betty recorded four saves in the match on eight attempts.
UP NEXT: The Raiders will take on Lower Columbia at home on Saturday, October 19th. Kickoff is slated at 12pm.
