Raiders Unable to Stop Trailblazers
The Centralia Trailblazers traveled to Puyallup on Wednesday, October 9th to take on the Pierce Raiders in their first meeting of the season. The Trailblazers defeated the Raiders by a score of 4 goals to 1.
The Raiders fell behind with a goal by Centralia in the 19th minute, but the Raiders were able to tie the match at one apiece when Tatiana Scheidt scored a goal, assisted by Kaylee Mithun in the 43rd minute. Centralia managed to score three more goals in the second half before the whistle blew for full time.
Shelby Dirks, Grace Pearson, and Elena Iniguez each had one shot on goal, while Kaylee Mithun and Tatiana Scheidt each had three shots on frame. Piper Betty guarded the net for the Raiders, recording 12 saves in 16 attempts.
The Raiders will travel to Lacey, WA on Saturday, October 12th, to face the South Puget Sound Clippers at noon.
