Titans Top Raiders in Saturday Contest

The Pierce Raiders women’s basketball team battled the Tacoma Titans on Saturday, January 24, but came up short in a 66-58 decision at Pierce.

Pierce kept the game competitive throughout, trading runs with Tacoma and showing toughness on both ends of the floor. Martha Jessop led the Raiders offensively, finishing with 16 points while shooting efficiently from the field. Malea Berridge added 12 points, and Tia Schanbeck chipped in 10 points to round out the Raiders’ double-figure scorers.

Inside, Adhau Chol provided a strong presence off the bench, recording six points and a team-high eight rebounds. Alicia-Ellalynn Soliai contributed six rebounds and three points, while Teagan Ofiana-Kline added five points in reserve minutes. Jane Wanjiku and Maesha Muau each helped defensively, combining for multiple assists and steals as Pierce looked to generate momentum.

Despite holding Tacoma within reach late, the Raiders were unable to overcome the Titans’ fourth-quarter push. Pierce finished the night with 47 rebounds and forced 19 Tacoma turnovers, but shooting struggles from beyond the arc proved to be the difference.

Up Next: Pierce will travel to Centralia on Wednesday, January 28, for a 7:00 p.m. matchup against the Trailblazers.
