Raiders Drop Two to Everett

Raiders Drop Two to Everett

Game 1 - Everett 11, Pierce 2

Pierce struggled to generate offense in the opener, falling 11-2 to Everett in a game where early runs by the visitors proved too much to overcome. Everett jumped out to a commanding lead, scoring nine runs in the first three innings and putting the Raiders on their heels early.

Pierce managed just three hits in the contest, with doubles from Audrey Deviney and Aspyn Evanson accounting for the only extra-base production. Brooklyn Crass and Deviney each crossed the plate for the Raiders’ two runs.

Both Pierce runs came in the fourth inning, capitalizing on defensive miscues. Yzanah Smith reached on an error that brought in a run, and Grace Field followed with an RBI fielder’s choice to plate the second.

In the circle, Karen Cervantes-Macias took the loss, allowing nine runs on 10 hits over three innings of work. Evanson provided relief, tossing two innings and giving up two runs while striking out one.

Game 2 - Everett 14, Pierce 12

The nightcap turned into an offensive battle, with Pierce rallying late but ultimately falling just short in a 14-12 loss.

The Raiders’ bats came alive with 15 hits, highlighted by a standout performance from Amelia Lopez, who went 2-for-3 with a home run, a double, and two RBIs while scoring three times. Grace Field also had a big day, finishing 2-for-4 with a triple, double, RBI, and two runs scored.

Pierce surged ahead with a five-run second inning and continued to apply pressure, building a 9-4 lead after three innings. Key contributions during the rally included RBI hits from Karen Cervantes-Macias, Audrey Deviney, and Alosina Fuiava.

However, Everett responded with a big middle stretch, taking advantage of seven walks issued by Raider pitching to regain the lead. Despite the setback, Pierce continued to fight, adding a run in the sixth on an RBI from Kaylie Marshall.

In the seventh, Lopez launched a solo home run to cut the deficit, and Hallie Beers added a sacrifice fly to bring Pierce within two, but the comeback effort fell just short.

Cervantes-Macias led the team with two RBIs, while Beers added a pair of her own. Fuiava, Jadyn Johnson, Marshall, and Field each contributed an RBI in the high-scoring effort.

Audrey Deviney started in the circle, allowing four runs over three innings. Aspyn Evanson and Cervantes-Macias also saw time pitching as Everett totaled 14 runs on 12 hits.
