Everett Takes Two From Pierce in Doubleheader

Pierce College hit the road on Friday, March 27th for a North Region matchup against Everett College, falling in both games of the doubleheader, 8-0 and 12-4. The losses move the Raiders to 6-4 in North Region play as they continue conference action.

Game 1 – Everett 8, Pierce 0

Pierce struggled to generate offense in the opener, managing just four hits in the shutout loss. Shelby Mason, Alosina Fuiava, Emma Loera, and Amori Hargrove each recorded a hit, with Loera adding a double for the Raiders’ only extra-base knock.

Despite drawing three walks, Pierce was unable to capitalize, leaving seven runners on base.

In the circle, Karen Cervantes-Macias took the loss, throwing 4.0 innings while allowing six runs (four earned) on seven hits and three walks, striking out four. Aspyn Evanson came on in relief, giving up two runs over 0.2 innings as Everett pulled away late.

Game 2 – Everett 12, Pierce 4

The Raiders showed more life offensively in game two, collecting nine hits and jumping out to an early lead. Amelia Lopez led the way with a standout performance, going 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBIs.

Pierce struck first in the opening inning when Lopez launched a two-run homer to give the Raiders a 2-0 advantage. Everett answered back, but Pierce regained momentum in the fourth inning as Shelby Mason delivered an RBI single to make it 3-1.

Lopez added her second home run of the game in the fifth inning, briefly pulling Pierce within one run at 5-4. However, Everett responded with a big offensive surge, plating runs late to secure the 12-4 victory.

Additional offensive contributions came from Madelyn Stanaway, who went 2-for-3 with a run scored and a walk, and Jadyn Johnson, who added two hits. Loera also contributed with a double and a run scored.

In the circle, Evanson started and took the loss, allowing nine runs (eight earned) over 4.1 innings. Audrey Deviney provided relief, striking out two but surrendering three runs in 0.2 innings.

Up Next: Pierce returns home on Sunday, March 29th to host Bellevue College for their first home games of the season. First pitch of the doubleheader is set for 12:00pm, with game two scheduled for 2:00pm.
