In their second meeting of the season, the Olympic Rangers managed to take both games from the Raiders on Sunday morning. The Raiders and Rangers took game one into extra innings, with the Rangers coming out on top by a score of 7-4 (8 innings). Olympic took game two as well with a score of 18-4.
The Raiders managed to score early in the bottom of the first inning with three runs off the bat off sophomore Jazlyn Furuya (1 RBI), and Elyssa Barnett (2RBI). The Raiders were able to keep the Rangers silent until the top of the sixth inning when they managed to take the lead on a four-run-inning. The Raiders tied the game in the bottom of the seventh when Furuya singled, driving in one run. However, Olympic was able to answer back, scoring three more runs in the top of the eighth inning to end the game by a score of 7-4.
Samantha Tungsvik pitched all eight innings for the Raiders, striking out nine batters.
In game two the Raiders kept a close game until a nine-run-inning in the top of the seventh sealed the deal for the Rangers. Olympic scored six total runs by the bottom of the second inning, but a homer run from Jenna Bettge in the bottom of the third broke up the scoreless game for the Raiders. Pierce added two more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning on an error by the Rangers second baseman, making the score 7-3. The Raiders added one more run in the bottom of the seventh inning off the bat of Jazlyn Furuya, ending the score at 18-4.
Abigail Lindenmuth pitched all seven innings for Pierce, striking out two.
