The Pierce Raiders celebrated their five sophomores, Vivian Watts, Sidnye Burger, Jazlyn Furuya, Jenna Bettge, and Eeron Wong, on Thursday afternoon prior to the start of their games against Edmonds. The Raiders defeated the North Region Champions in game one by a score of 8-6 and threatened to take game two with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh inning, but the Tritons were able to get out of the inning, ending the game by a score of 10-7.
In game one the Raiders scored first with two runs in the bottom of the first inning when Vivian Watts doubled, bringing in one run, and a sacrifice fly to centerfield from Jazlyn Furuya allowed another run to score on the tag. Edmonds answered back with four runs in the top of the second inning, however; the Raider were able to regain the lead by scoring three more runs, making the score 5-4. Edmonds regained the lead in the top of the fourth inning when they scored two runs, but a two-run home run from Eeron Wong in the bottom of the fifth inning was all the Raiders needed to seal the win.
Eeron Wong, Vivian Watts, and Sidnye Burger each had two hits in the game. Jenna Bettge had one hit, a triple, and Ava Lewis, Samantha Tungsvik, Jazlyn Furuya, Abigail Lindenmuth each had one hit as well.
