Raiders Fall to Royals to End Season

The Pierce Raiders headed north to take on the Douglas Royals in Surrey, British Columbia for their last meeting of the 2024 season. The Raiders fell to the Royals in game one by a score of 9-0 and again in game to by a score of 17-3. The Raiders finished their 2024 season with an overall record of 7-31 and 7-15 in North Region play.

The Raiders were held to just two hits in game one. Samantha Tungsvik hitting a triple in her first at bat in the top of the first inning, and Elyssa Barnett hit a single to center field in the top of the second inning. 

Vivian Watts pitched all four innings for the Raiders, striking out one in her appearance.

In game two the Raiders managed to score early, putting up three runs on the board. A double off the bat of Vivian Watts scored two runs, followed by a single from Sidnye Burger to add one more run. The Royals answered back, scoring 10 runs in the bottom of the first, and six more runs in the bottom of the second innings. Douglas added one more run in the bottom of the fourth inning, moving the final score to 17-3.

Vivian Watts led the Raiders on offense with 2 hits, followed by Jenna Bettge, Samantha Tungsvik, Sidnye Burger, and Hailey Dean who each had one hit. Abigail Lindenmuth started on the mound for the Raiders, and was replaced by Samantha Tungsvik in the third inning. Tungsvik struck out three without giving up any walks.
