The Pierce Raiders traveled to Des Moines to take on the Highline Thunderbirds on Wednesday, October 16th. Highline defeated Pierce by a score of 5-1, moving the Raiders overall season record to 3-10-1 and 3-8 in conference play.
Pierce scored the first goal of the match right before the end of the first half, when Alvaro Veloso placed the ball in the net with a diving header, from a free kick off the foot of Bryan Marin. Wesley Lopez was the only other Raider to place the ball on frame. Nathan Bidinger started as goalkeeper for the Raiders, recording five saves in the match.
UP NEXT: The Raiders will host Tacoma CC on Saturday for their second meeting of the season. Kickoff is set for 2:15pm following the Women's soccer game.
