Raiders Split Saturday, Finish Series Even at Wenatchee Valley

The Pierce Raiders closed out their four-game series at Wenatchee Valley on Saturday, March 21st with another split, earning a 3-1 win in game one before falling 2-1 in a tightly contested finale.

Game 1: Pierce 3, Wenatchee Valley 1

Pierce leaned on strong pitching and timely hitting to secure the win in Saturday’s opener.

Vayden Lawrence set the tone on the mound, delivering five solid innings while allowing just one run on six hits. The bullpen trio of Izaiah Koko, Broq Powlus, and Braden Bedell combined to shut the door, with Bedell striking out all three batters he faced in a dominant final inning.

Offensively, the Raiders capitalized late. Jackson Copeland put Pierce on the board in the fourth inning with an RBI groundout, scoring Tristan Ringrose for a 1-0 lead. The game remained tight until the seventh inning when Tristan Ringrose delivered the biggest swing of the game, ripping a two-RBI single to score Hudson Cunningham and Riley Sanoy and extend the lead to 3-1.

Pierce managed just four hits on the day but made them count, pairing clutch offense with a strong overall pitching performance to secure the victory.

Game 2: Wenatchee Valley 2, Pierce 1

The series finale turned into a pitchers’ duel, with Pierce coming up just short in a 2-1 loss decided in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Bradley Carl led the Raiders offensively, going 2-for-4 with a double and scoring the team’s only run on a sacrifice fly from Ethan Brimble in the top of the 7th inning to tie the game. Pierce was limited to three hits but showed patience at the plate, drawing six walks.

On the mound, Santiago Guedez-Rodriguez was outstanding, allowing just one hit and no earned runs over four innings while striking out five. Drechen Vinoray-Perreira followed in relief and battled through traffic before Wenatchee Valley ultimately walked it off with a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the seventh.
