Raiders Take Two in Dominant Doubleheader Against Grays Harbor

The Pierce College Raiders baseball team opened their four-game series against the Grays Harbor Chokers in commanding fashion, sweeping Saturday’s doubleheader at home with 10-0 and 3-1 victories.

In game one, the Raiders' offense exploded late to secure a 10-0 mercy-rule win in seven innings. After scoring single runs in the second and fourth innings, Pierce erupted for seven runs in the sixth and added one more in the seventh to close it out. Bo Stinson crossed the plate twice, drew two walks, and swiped a base. Bradley Carl stayed hot at the plate with two runs, two hits—including a double—an RBI, and a walk. Andrew Moberly added two hits and two RBI, while Joel Fernandez and Cameron Hale each chipped in with a run and an RBI. On the mound, Vayden Lawrence was lights out, tossing a complete-game shutout with seven strikeouts, allowing just four hits and one walk.

Game two was a tighter contest, but the Raiders remained in control, earning a 3-1 win. Pierce struck first in the third inning and followed up with two more runs in the fourth. Yacel Limonta led the offense with two hits, while Tristan Ringrose, Cameron Hale, Kadin Kingsbury, Jackson Copeland, and Andrew Moberly each added a hit to contribute to the team’s seven-hit effort. On the hill, Cooper Weygandt delivered yet another stellar outing, throwing a complete game and allowing only one hit, one run, and striking out six.

The Raiders will look to keep the momentum rolling as they hit the road to wrap up the series with a doubleheader in Aberdeen.
